Gautam Adani is an Indian business magnate, who is the chairman and founder of the Adani Group, a multinational conglomerate based in India. He was ranked as the 64th richest person in India by Forbes, with an estimated net worth of US$5 billion in June 2017. His company has interests in power generation, natural resources and infrastructure development.

Adani Enterprises: Largest private coal mining company in India.

Adani Enterprises Ltd. (AEL) is an Indian conglomerate based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is involved in mining of coal, iron ore and other minerals in Australia, Indonesia, Mozambique and South Africa. It operates one of the largest coal mines in Australia, the Carmichael Coal Mine which has been described as one of India's most controversial projects due to environmental concerns about its effects on native animals such as kangaroos and koalas that live near it.

In 2012 AEL acquired Australian-owned Elders IXL Energy for approximately US$6 billion. The acquisition significantly increased AEL's portfolio to include interests in thermal energy production through power generation; oil refining at refineries located across India; ethanol processing facilities at three locations, two each in Maharashtra state (Bhiwandi) & Gujarat state.


Adani Power: Largest private thermal power producer in India.

Adani Power is a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, a diversified business conglomerate based in India. It is India's largest private thermal power producer and has an installed capacity of over 10,000 MW. The company operates in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.

The company was formed on May 24th 2003 when Adani founded it as part of his plan to build one million MW by 2020 (the National Solar Mission).

In July 2016 it also acquired MPSC's entire stake in Rajasthan's Hazira Thermal Power Station through its subsidiary RNCL (Rajasthan NRE Coke Ltd). Adani GMR Infrastructure Ltd operates world-class airports at Jaipur International Airport and Agra airport under Namami Ganga project.


Adani Gas:

Supplies Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to the transport sector in Ahmedabad and Vadodara and piped natural gas (PNG) to households, hotels and commercial buildings in Gandhinagar.

Adani Gas is a joint venture company between the Adani Group and Essel Group that supplies compressed natural gas (CNG) to the transport sector in Ahmedabad and Vadodara. It has also piped natural gas (PNG) to households, hotels and commercial buildings in Gandhinagar.

Adani Gas Ltd AGL owns majority stake in GAIL India Limited which has emerged as one of largest players in natural gas distribution network segment after acquiring Indian Oil Corporation's Chennai Petroleum Depot (East) from RITES Limited for $1 billion (Rs 6500 crore).


Adani Infrastructure & Transport:

It Operates under two divisions, namely logistics and shipping. It has developed Mundra Port, India's largest commercial port. The group also runs a dry bulk cargo terminal at the Ennore Port in Chennai. It also plans to develop another port at Hazira in Gujarat.

Adani Infrastructure & Transport Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd., which in turn is a joint venture between the Anil Ambani family and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).

Adani Infrastructure & Transport has developed Mundra Port, India's largest commercial port and one of the world's largest private ports. It also operates an oil refinery at Dahej in Gujarat that produces 30,000 barrels per day (bpd) as well as an LNG import terminal at Hazira in Gujarat; an iron ore mine at Borwara Chhattisgarh

Adani Global Resources & Logistics:

This division has merged with the newly-formed trading arm of the company called Adani Resources Pvt. Ltd., which is registered in Singapore. This division deals mainly into commodity trading and import/export of various products like coal, copper cathode and alumina.

The company also has an investment arm called “Adani Enterprises Ltd” that invests in various sectors including power generation, infrastructure development, logistics etc as well as a group holding company known as “Adani Group” which controls all businesses within this conglomerate structure including mining operations and other related activities.


Adani Agri Logistics Concentrated into three businesses

  • Food Storage & Warehousing.
  • Cold Storage or Cold Chain and
  •  Transportation. Food Processing or Value Addition Capability.

Adani Agri Logistics is a business division of the Adani Group. It was established to provide complete logistics solutions for the group's agribusiness operations in India and abroad.

Food Storage & Warehousing Division

This division caters to all aspects of warehousing and distribution of food products like fruits and vegetables, processed foods, bakery items etc., including cold chain management services such as refrigeration equipment supply, maintenance services etc., which are used by other entities within the group as well as by other companies outside its purview (such as third party logistics providers).

Cold Storage or Cold Chain & Transportation Division

This unit provides reliable refrigerated transport services across India for transporting chilled goods from one location/point-of origin directly to another point-of destination (including airports). It also offers dry docking facilities at port terminals where containers can be unloaded directly onto trucks without requiring any additional storage space after unloading them from ships/tugs that deliver them onto landfills where they will be picked up again later on when needed again by trucking companies who pick them up before delivering them into warehouses where they remain until sold off again eventually ending up back into homes through retailers such as retail chains like Walmart Stores Inc.

Adani Group has been expanding its operations globally with presence in Australia, Africa & GCC countries as well as Europe & America.
