The  Mandela Effect is a dangerous trend that began in the 1980s and has been growing ever since.

It's easy to see why: the costumes are almost always black, and they all look like Nelson Mandela.

This is dangerous because it can lead people to believe that Mandela was alive—that he was never imprisoned for 27 years and instead lived for decades after his death.
