According to rumours, Apple is developing a new entry-level iPad with a USB-C port and a look more in line with the iPad Pro. It will be the biggest improvement to the standard iPad in a number of years, but it's not clear if Apple intends to unveil it at the same time as its new iPad Pro models or at a later time.

Although it seems likely that the FaceTime camera will receive an internal upgrade, we don't yet know for sure. However, a recently leaked screen protector seems to indicate that the entire device will actually move from its current position. For the first time, it appears as though Apple is prepared to shift the FaceTime camera to the tablet's long side, making it the focal point when in landscape mode.

The FaceTime camera is located on the short edge of every contemporary iPad, giving the tablet a distinct top and bottom. Although it was carried over from the iPhone, Majin Bu's leak of a screen protector reveals a change: a FaceTime camera cutout on the side. The photograph is displayed in the tweet below.

This time around, it is expected that we'll see an M2 iPad Pro with 5G connectivity, and perhaps a few other products. The iPad Pro has been the star of the show for Apple in recent years, but it's always been more of a niche product than something mainstream consumers could buy.

However, there are rumors that Apple may be planning on releasing an updated version of its high-end tablet at its event.

The new device could feature faster processor speeds and improved cameras as well as an updated design with glass back panels instead of aluminum ones like its predecessor did (which also happened to have one heckuva battery life).

It's unclear if these changes would make up for what could be considered regression from past generations' performance levels—but if so then users will definitely want their hands on them.
