How To Change Your Life In a Year?
Are you ready to change your life? I've been there. For years, my life was a mess, I didn't know what I wanted from it or how to get there. But then, one day, something clicked.
I realized that the way I had been living wasn't working for me anymore. So what did I do? Well, first off, I started tracking my finances and making sure they were in order before taking on any other task (which was easier said than done).
Then came some new habits like journaling daily gratitude lists while also tracking every dollar spent each month as well as how much money went into savings each week (even though most people don't think about this until after retirement age!). These small changes made all the difference in helping me become happier and healthier than ever before.
Start each day by writing one thing in your gratitude journal. |
- Gratitude journaling is a simple way to start your day on a positive note. It can help you avoid negative thoughts and feelings, which may be holding you back from pursuing the things that you want in life.
- If there's one thing that we know about gratitude, it's that feeling grateful gives us a sense of purpose and purpose makes everything else easier.
When you feel grateful, you can focus more clearly on what matters. You will have a clearer vision of where you want to go, and how to get there. Gratitude helps us stay focused on what's most important in our lives and it helps us feel good about ourselves.
Take a photo of what you ate today and reflect on it.
- Take a photo of what you ate today, and then reflect on it.
- Use this photo to learn about your eating habits: What types of foods do you eat? How much do they cost? Do they make up an important part of your daily diet? What are some healthy alternatives that could replace those unhealthy choices in favour of healthier options that are still delicious and satisfying (or at least not as bad)?
Use this information to help guide future decisions about food purchases, like when buying groceries or restaurant meals and even where to go out for dinner with friends.
Track Your Finances
- Know what you have, where it's going and why.
It's important to know exactly how much money is coming in and leaving each month before making a budget or plan for the future. This can help you see where your money is going so that you can figure out ways to spend less on certain things while earning more money in other areas (i.e., if someone pays $200 per month in rent but only makes $200 per week).
Have Lunch With a Friend.
Get to know someone you haven't seen in a while, and share your goals with them. Don't talk about work or politics, religion or other people's problems this is just for fun.
Phone a Friend.
- Call a friend you haven’t talked to in a while.
- Talk about something other than work or the weather.
- Ask them how they’re doing, and what their day was like (if it wasn’t too much of an effort for them).
- What did you do this weekend? What are some of the things that have been going well lately?
Clean your room, change the sheets, take out the trash, and wash the dishes.
- Clean your room.
- Change the sheets on your bed. If you're not using them, it's time to get rid of them and make room for new ones.
- Take out the trash and recycle bins once a week (or more if you have time). You don't want to be responsible for holding onto any garbage that could end up in a landfill or worse being recycled into another product.
- Wash dishes at least once every two days (or more if there are dirty dishes in the sink). Because we're all busy people who live in modern times, this is harder than it sounds: maybe you don't even know how long it takes to wash one dish! But DO IT! It'll keep things clean around here and save our planet from further harm.
Do something nice for someone else today too.
- Be kind to others. This can be as simple as smiling at the person behind you in line at a store or as complicated as helping someone with their car, bike or wheelchair when they're stuck in traffic.
- Help someone in need today. Even if it's just lending an ear when they're upset and listening to them vent, it will make your day better because you did something nice for someone else.
- Volunteer your time to charity: Whether it's volunteering at an animal shelter or cleaning up after a hurricane, helping others out is another great way to put yourself on the right track towards making changes this year.
Make today's to-do list with extra time allocated to finish it.
You might be a busy person, but you can still find time to make your to-do list. It's important to set realistic goals for yourself and never underestimate the power of a well-intentioned list. You'll feel better about yourself when you cross things off as they're completed, so don't worry about being perfect; just make sure that each item on your list gets done before moving on to another thing in your life.
Make time to read today, even if it's only five minutes to catch up on the news or browse social media.
This may sound like a strange thing to say, but reading is an activity that can help you feel better. Even if it's only five minutes of your time that you spend reading the news or scrolling through social media, this little bit will have a positive impact on your mood and outlook on life.
Reading gives us a chance to relax, learn new things (and maybe even improve our minds), and connect with others in different ways and it's just plain fun.
Have some tea and relax for 15 minutes tonight.
Tea is good for you, and it's also a great way to end the day. It can help you sleep better and feel calmer, which will help you get through tomorrow with less stress than usual. You may even find that your daily routine feels more relaxed as well.
Take a ten-minute walk outside.
If you're not already walking outside, there are a few things you can do to get yourself on track. First, choose an activity that's good for your body and mental health. For example: going for a run or playing field hockey is great for fitness, but it might not be so much fun if you don't have anyone else with whom to share the experience.
Second, make sure that your exercise routine is consistently taking place every day by making sure that it's part of your daily schedule and not just something that happens once in a while when no one else is around! If this means getting up earlier than usual on weekends (or even during the school year), then so be it; if necessary travel around town by foot instead of taking public transportation--just make sure whatever route takes less time is worth doing again tomorrow morning before work begins again after lunch break ends at 3 pm sharp.
Looking back on your day will help you feel productive and grateful for the little things all year round
- Look back on your day and take stock of what you did.
- Look back on the year and take stock of what you accomplished. You can do this in a journal, or just in your head whatever works for you! It's important to be accountable for your accomplishments so that when something good happens in life (like receiving a raise), you remember it as more than just an “extra” paycheck or bonus. This way, when someone asks how much money I make at work each week, I'll be able to say confidently: “$150k per year."
Learn a new recipe each week.
Learn a new recipe each week. Cooking is one of the best ways to relax, unwind and spend time with your family. It's also a great way to learn new skills and build confidence in yourself.
Start with something simple like a casserole or soup that you can make for dinner every night for at least three months. Then try cooking some more exotic dishes from around the world like Indian curries or Thai Pad Thai noodles.
Take up a yoga, meditation or mindfulness practice.
- Yoga is a great way to relax and focus.
- Meditation can help you relax, but it's not always easy to do.
- Mindfulness is a great way to get into the present moment, which will help you connect with your body and mind more fully.
Keep an exercise log.
Tracking your progress can be motivating and help you set goals, but it's also important to note that if you're stressed or tired, it's harder for the body to burn fat. So keep track of how much time you spend exercising each week, and try to break down the days where you put in less than an hour into smaller chunks (like 15 minutes).Listen to podcasts about your industry.
Now that you've got a strong idea of what you want to do in the future and how you want to live your life, it's time to think about how you're going to get there. One way is through podcasts! Podcasts are an incredible way for people who aren't necessarily into reading books or watching movies (like me) to learn new skills and improve their careers.
Podcasts are also great for relaxing after work or travelling; listening helps relieve stress so that when faced with difficult situations later on down the road, we won't have as much anxiety about them as we would otherwise have had from our worries beforehand.
Switch up your morning routine and stick to it.
Your morning routine isn't just a way to start your day, it's also an opportunity to reset and reset again. The first few hours of the day are when your body is at its most restful, so there's no better time than now or morning to get back on track with habits that help you get organized, energized and ready for anything.
While there are many things you could do in the morning (and more than once), here are three quick ways to improve your mornings:
- Wake up earlier than usual; this will give you enough time for a workout before work or school starts.
- Make sure all of your devices are charging before leaving home; keep them out of sight until after breakfast, so they don't interrupt any important tasks like sleeping or showering (or both).
- If possible try not going straight into work right after waking up; take some time out during which nothing much needs doing besides eating breakfast and getting dressed in clothes suitable for whatever plans might be made later on today."
Be aware of what you're eating.
Eat more vegetables. Most people don't eat enough vegetables, and if you're one of them, it's time to change that. Vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals and fibre they can help improve your health as well as add variety to your diet.
Try eating a half-cup of raw broccoli every day or two; they're delicious! You'll also want to make sure that the fruits and veggies you consume are whole (i.e., not overly processed).
Whole foods contain all their natural goodness without any added salt or sugar and since we live in an era where everything is processed for us anyway...it's important that we take care of our bodies by eating real food instead of just trusting the labels on products at stores.
Read more books and blogs, regardless of what they're about.
Books are the bestest friend. Reading is one of the best ways to improve your life. Reading books on topics you are interested in and that will help improve your career is a great way to do this. If you are not interested in reading a specific book, then pick something else instead!
Reading about something that fascinates me as an adult like psychology or sociology can help me understand myself better. As I progress through my career path, I will learn more about myself by reading these types of books too!
Make time for a good night's sleep, every night.
Making time for a good night’s sleep, every night will help you stay in shape and feel great.
- Make sure that you get the right amount of sleep: Six hours is ideal; however, most people need between seven and nine hours per night to function well. If you're not getting enough restful shut-eye, it can be harder to focus on your day-to-day tasks throughout the day or even just get up in the morning (which is no fun when you're tired).
- Getting a proper amount of restful shut-eye won't happen overnight, it takes time for your body's systems to adjust to this new rhythm so try going without electronics 30 minutes before bedtime if possible until your body adjusts.
Leave work at work.
The first step to changing your life is leaving work at work. Don’t let the stress of your job seep into other aspects of your life, like relationships or family time.
You should also try not to take work home with you or use your phone as an alarm clock or music player these are all things that can easily be done on another device (that won't give you that much screen time).
Smile more (even if you don't feel like it).
Smiling is a great way to make others feel happy, and it can even help you become happier. If you want to change your life in a year, start smiling more often.
- Smiling makes people around us feel more confident and relaxed.
- Smiling helps us connect with others on an emotional level that's missing when we're not smiling.
- When we don't smile regularly, our bodies send out signals that say "I am not happy!" This leads other people to think negatively about us or look down on us because of their own negative emotions from not being able to connect with someone else who isn't feeling good about themselves or himself/herself (i.e., no one wants someone around them who doesn't seem like he/she wants anything).
Learn how to be more detail-oriented at work.
- Learn how to be more detail-oriented at work.
- This will help you to be more efficient and organized, which means that your time will go by faster and you'll be able to get more done in less time. It also makes it easier for others around you because they'll know what needs doing or where things are located.
- Being more productive can lead to increased success with your career as well as personal growth and fulfilment
Practice saying no more often.
It's tempting to say yes when you mean no, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of something new on your plate.
The best way to avoid this is by being honest with yourself about what you can do and what's possible without getting into too much trouble or burning out quickly.
If something sounds like it might be beneficial for your health or well-being but still seems too big of a commitment at that moment in time, consider saying no before making any commitments so that there will be room for other changes down the road.
There are so many small things you can do to create real change in your life.
It's not about the big things, it's about the small changes you can make that will lead to big changes.
Small steps towards your goals are more likely to lead you toward success than trying to do everything at once.
Start your day with a healthy breakfast
There are many benefits to eating a healthy breakfast. It will help you stay focused, alert and energized throughout the day. A good breakfast will also ensure that you don't overeat later in the day, which can lead to weight gain or even obesity.
When it comes to losing belly fat, some foods should be avoided altogether (like highly processed foods), others should be limited (low-fat dairy products), and others still need to be eaten more often than not (healthy proteins). The best way to know what works best for each individual? Eat what makes sense based on your own goals.
Get rid of old mementoes
One of the easiest ways to change your life for the better is by getting rid of old mementoes. If you’re like most people, you probably have a few things around that remind you of someone from your past or special occasion.
But if these items aren’t important anymore and aren't helping you live a happier day-to-day life, then they don't need to be hanging on your wall anymore.
If it's not working out with some items (or if there are too many), consider donating or selling them so others can enjoy them instead.
If nothing else though just get rid of them! You'll feel great when they leave their place in space; plus who knows what might happen down the road when all those memories come back into play?
Smile at Strangers
You'll be surprised at how easy it is to smile at someone you don't know. It can be done in the middle of a crowded street, in front of a busy coffee shop or even on your way home from work.
The key is just to keep doing it! If you're always smiling at people, they'll get used to seeing your face and will eventually start looking out for you when they pass by. And if there's one thing we've learned from our research: people love being noticed by others and that includes those who might seem like strangers at first glance (but probably aren't).
So go ahead and smile! After all, if someone hasn't seen your face yet today but does tomorrow? Who knows what could happen there?
Step out of your comfort zone.
Go to a class you wouldn't normally take, try a new activity or activity you've always wanted to do, go to a party alone and talk to people there.
If you don't know anyone at the party, start talking about something that interests both of you; maybe it'll be something funny or exciting.
Boost your creative energy
When you're feeling overwhelmed, it's easy to forget about your health. You may also be under the impression that changing your diet and exercising is not good for you but they are! If you want to see a significant change in your life, start with these three steps:
- Get enough sleep
- Eat healthy food
- Exercise regularly
Take care of your body when you feel sick.
When you feel sick, it's important to take care of yourself. Don't ignore the symptoms; don't self-medicate or try and push through them on your own. If you're feeling unwell, get help from your doctor as soon as possible to ensure that they can provide the correct diagnosis and treatment plan for whatever ailment is affecting you.
When it comes to dealing with illness and injuries, some things may help prevent long-lasting damage:
- Avoid alcohol and drugs if possible (it's not worth risking an overdose or addiction).
- Get plenty of rest - this will help reduce stress levels which can lead to aches & pains later on!
Forgive Yourself.
Forgiveness is a process, not an action. It does not mean forgetting or condoning the wrongdoer's actions. Forgiveness is about letting go of the resentment and anger you have toward someone else to focus on yourself and your needs instead.
Facing your past can be a difficult thing to do, but it's necessary if you want to move forward with your life in a healthy way and if you want forgiveness from others around you. Facing up to what happened will help heal those wounds so they don't fester into something worse later down the road when they come back up again (and they will).
Give up gossiping.
Gossiping is the opposite of being a good friend.
It's not just socially acceptable, it's encouraged by society. If you want to be considered cool or popular among your peers and co-workers, gossiping is an essential skill that will help you achieve your goal.
However, gossiping isn't just annoying—it can also be damaging to your health and well-being in many ways:
It causes stress because of how quickly people spread rumours about someone else; spreading negative information about them can make them feel isolated from their friends and family members who know the truth behind those rumours (and may even try to correct them).
This kind of isolation is especially harmful to young children who are still developing socially at this stage in life; they need constant support from parents/other adults for them not only to succeed academically but also to develop healthy relationships with others around them so they don't fall victim too easily when faced with stressful situations later down the road.
Eat more fruits and vegetables.
Eating more fruits and vegetables is a great way to improve your health, but it can be hard to remember that when you're busy. A good rule of thumb for how much fruit and vegetable you should eat each day is 1 cup of raw or cooked vegetables or 2 cups of salad per day. This can vary depending on what type of food you're eating; however, the amount must be large enough so that you feel like you're getting your money's worth out of it!
Fruits are rich in vitamins, minerals and fibre—all things needed for good health. Vegetables have many benefits too: they help lower cholesterol levels; reduce risk factors such as diabetes; fight cancer cells; prevent heart disease by lowering bad cholesterol levels (LDL) in your bloodstream; help maintain strong bones throughout life - even after menopause.
Be present at the moment.
To be present at the moment, you need to be aware of your surroundings. That means paying attention to what's happening around you and not worrying about anything else. If something needs to be done, do it as soon as possible. Don't worry about whether or not this will happen tomorrow; just focus on getting it done today!
Being present in the moment will help you live a more fulfilling life because it will give you more time for enjoying yourself and interacting with other people.
It's also important for setting goals for yourself so that when something does happen later down the line (and sometimes sooner than expected), such as losing weight or finding love again after years apart from each other due to family obligations or distance between them at work etc., then instead of feeling like everything around them has changed drastically overnight which they probably haven't, they can make positive changes based off first impressions alone instead of having expectations beforehand which may end up being unrealistic due their lackadaisical attitude towards their happiness
Get Enough Sleep.
You can't change your life in a year, but you can make some changes that will help you get there. One of the best ways to do this is by getting more sleep each night.
Sleep is vital for your health and well-being, so you must give yourself enough time for restful slumber at night (but not so much that it becomes unhealthy).
If possible, aim for 7-8 hours per night but if sleeping through the night isn't an option yet (or ever), consider getting up earlier than usual on weekends or holidays when your schedule is less busy so there's more time during daytime hours to relax before going back into work mode again Monday morning.
It doesn't cost anything to make these changes, but it will make you healthier and happier
You don't have to spend a lot of money on a gym membership or buy expensive supplements to make these changes.
The things you already do every day can likely be improved upon and if not by going to the gym every day and eating healthy foods, then by eating less junk food or drinking less soda.
If someone asked me what my favourite part about this is (besides being able to eat whatever I want), it would probably be how much easier it is than before. It doesn't cost anything but time and effort; all we need is our willpower.
Conclusion
I hope this list has inspired you to make some small changes that will have a big impact on your life. You don’t have to do everything at once, or even all in the same month.
What matters most is that you take action now and start seeing some results! It may feel like it takes forever, but keep in mind that every time you complete one of these tasks it gets easier next time around and soon enough there won't be any more excuses for not making changes.
