HAPPY Sweetest Day 15 Oct 2022
Sweetest Day is a holiday that celebrates love, kindness and friendship. It originated in Cleveland Ohio where it was created as an effort to boost candy sales during the Christmas season. The origins of this holiday are disputed but it seems as though Herbert Birch Kingston, a philanthropist in Cleveland Ohio may be the original creator of this event back in 1922.

The origins of Sweetest Day are disputed, but it is believed that the holiday was started by a candy company to increase sales.
In an effort to boost sales during the Great Depression, The Buckeye Candy Company decided to create an annual event they called "Sweetest Day". This would become one day out of every year when all candies were half-off at stores across America and there were special sale items for people who bought them during this time frame only (such as no-name chocolates). Just like today's sale days at stores like Target or Walmart where you can get something cheap if you shop early enough.
Happy Sweetest Day Gifts To Offer
You can also give gifts of candy, flowers and cards. Cards and poems are also given as well on this day. Some families refer to it as "Sweetheart Day".

What People Offer On HAPPY SWEETEST DAY
Women send men candy and other gifts on Sweetest Day. The giving of candy is similar to Valentine’s Day but usually not as extravagant or expensive. In addition to gifts of candy and flowers, cards or poems are given as well.
The tradition dates back to the 1940s when women began sending notes to their sweethearts on this particular day so they could receive them in time for Christmas Eve dinner parties that were held at their homes just before New Year's Eve celebrations began.
It has become such a popular tradition that many people now send cards and flowers for Valentine's Day instead (or with sentimental significance).
Some Families Refer To This Day As "Sweetheart Day".
This is a day for couples to show their love for each other, by doing something special or spending time together. It's also a good time to give gifts and express your feelings towards your partner.
Since its origin in 1922 it has been criticized by a number of people saying that it encourages materialism and consumerism
The holiday's origin is traced back to 1922, when a group of women decided to honor the "Sweetest Day" of their husbands.
Since then, critics have argued that it encourages materialism and consumerism by celebrating an objectified version of femininity. In addition, they say it isn't a good holiday for children because it encourages them to spend money on gifts instead of spending time with family members or friends.
They also say this commercialized celebration doesn't celebrate women; rather, it celebrates men who buy presents for women as proof that they love them (and also as an excuse for men who don't want to spend any money).
This is a holiday that encourages an act of kindness for someone you love or care about
- It is a day to show your loved ones how much you care about them.
- It is a day to do something nice for someone you love or care about.
- You can give someone flowers, chocolates or even money on this day as well!
